In an ecological and united approach, we participate in the socio-economic and community development of the Parc-Extension neighborhood in Montreal by coordinating a set of activities and services related to food and agriculture. Our collective project’s mission is to encourage the involvement of members and the local population for greater urban food autonomy, to support our collective power to act and for the development of local resources, knowledge and talents.

How did it start ?

It was at the Parc Extension collective garden that the founding members of the cooperative met. In love with their neighborhood and driven by the same values in search of a healthier and more human world, these friends decided to storm this place in the heart of the neighborhood, with its beautiful large windows, which only asked to be of good use! Sowing seeds of vegetables, meetings and creations … this was the goal of building La Place Commune.
