Mission and History

In an essentially ecological and solidarity approach, we will participate to the socioeconomical and communitarian development of the neighbourhood Parc Extension in Montreal through an ensemble of activities linked to food and agriculture. Our collective project will encourage the involvement of members and of the local population for a better urban food autonomy, to support our collective competence to act and to value the local ressources, knowledge and talents.

How did it start?

It’s at the collective garden in Parc Extension that the founding members of the cooperative met. In love with their neighborhood and animated by the same values looking for a healthier and more human world, those friends decided to take this place at the heart of the neighborhood, with its big nice windows  , that was only asking to be of good use! Sow vegetables, encounters and creation seeds… that was the goal to build La Place Commune.
